Our Story

Lakewood began on Easter Sunday in April 1980. We met in homes until renting out a facility in downtown McAlester. In September of 1980 we purchased 25 acres of land on George Nigh Expressway where our current building now sits. We held our first Sunday in our new building in June of 1981. It was in this year that Lakewood Christian School was started. Since then, we have added classrooms and a gym as well as doing a large remodel of our facilities in April of 2014. Throughout this time our vision has remained constant. We exist to reach the world through genuine fellowship with God and each other.
